Dear Friends and Family,

I hope this letter finds you well and walking with our Lord. As many of you might already know, my brother in Christ - Taylor McCall - has finished his last date with Try Dying Ministries.

During our commission we developed a bond of Christian brotherhood that will never be broken. Christ Jesus used that bond to glorify Himself, reach the lost, encourage the body, and prepare Taylor and I for the next season of our ministry and service unto Him.

This past summer, Taylor and I traveled throughout the southeastern states in nomadic fashion proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was through those broadening experiences that God triggered and fashioned in both of us a heart for local ministry.

It is true that life is a series of events meant to grow each of us so that we can escalate in our service to Christ. Where we are is never where we are going to be, our life is a journey. And it is on this cause that both Taylor and I are being drafted into harder challenges, stronger commitments, and deeper devotion.

This new season has Taylor serving the Lord at Clearwater Community Church in Birmingham. They will welcome his talents and gifts.

As for me, I will continue to advance the Gospel through continued traveling and daily ministry.

When I left Dayspring Baptist Church in May of 2006, I trusted my needs to the Lord. I can tell you the stories you hear are true -  God is powerfully faithful.  It is through His faithfulness that I learned that in material sacrifice, there can be spiritual wealth.

Through God's providence I have not missed a single bill, and he continues to provide for me through the gifts of many. There were several instances when I was about to be in need and an unexpected check would arrive. You were not there to see the result, but many times I have been on my knees praising God for the amazing workings of His body.

Taylor's departure from Try Dying has brought me to a new season. Oswald Chambers writes:

"Our human pride entrenches itself on this point, and we say - I will never accept anything from anyone. We shall have to, or disobey God. We have no right to expect to be in any other relation than our Lord Himself was in (see Luke 8:2-3).

Stagnation in spiritual life comes when we say we will bear the whole thing ourselves. We cannot. We are so involved in the universal purposes of God that immediately we obey God, others are affected. Are we going to remain loyal in our obedience to God and go through the humiliation of refusing to be independent, or are we going to take the other line and say - I will not cost other people suffering? We can disobey God if we choose, and it will bring immediate relief to the situation, but we shall be a grief to our Lord. Whereas if we obey God, He will look after those who have been pressed into the consequences of our obedience. We have simply to obey and to leave all consequences with Him."

I am deeply humbled and grateful that I will be able to participate in advancing the Gospel through continued travel with Try Dying. It is a mission that I take very seriously - to the point of inviting you to be a major part of making my participation in this endeavor possible in three ways:

1) Prayer - Please pray for humility (Philippians 2:3), boldness in sharing the Gospel (Ephesians 6:19), wisdom (Proverbs 4:7), and for my love to increase (1 Thessalonians 3:12). Pray for provision for needs (Philippians 4:19) and contentment in all circumstances (Philippians 4:11).

2) Financial Support - When God called me to travel by faith to preach the Gospel, He spoke clearly to me through Matthew 10:8-10. Beginning in the last part of verse 8, it reads:

"Freely you have received, freely give. Do not take along any gold or silver or copper in your belts; take no bag for the journey, or extra tunic, or sandals or staff; for the worker is worth his keep."

I am humbled to be a part of so great a mission, and am thrilled to testify to God's faithfulness in provision as I have determined not to allow any church's financial situation to prevent me from going. This will continue to be a theme in my life. We have been redeemed at a tremendous price, and my heart is to go and share the message of the cross with whomever I can and wherever I may go.

In light of this great task, I am inviting you to invest financially as you feel the Spirit's permission. This is not something I take lightly and feel a tremendous level of accountability to the Lord and to you in asking you to partner with a full-time traveling ministry.

This raises some very practical questions:

How will my investment be utilized?

As a full-time missionary, I will need your help that I might serve the Lord faithfully in the ministries He has called me to. To this point, I have lived for the past two years through honorariums given by churches. Because I do not set a price, the income I receive fluctuates from church to church. When I am able to obtain support, I will be free to begin funneling honorarium money to Try Dying Ministries for the advancement of the Gospel instead of using this money to survive.

My great hope is that support you invest will be my primary source of income and a major factor in my being able to give full attention to ministry.

What are your support raising goals?

Major debts at present include payoffs of $5,500 dollars on my car and $10, 477.57 on my student loan.

Where do I send support and to whom do I make my check out?

Please make your checks payable to:

Try Dying Ministries
2120 Spring Rd
Ohatchee, AL 36271

When should I begin sending financial support and how often?

Your financial support is welcome and appreciated as soon as God confirms in your heart that you are being called to join in this work.  While all gifts are deeply appreciated, I am praying for monthly support from people who are called to invest long-term.

How will I be able to keep up-to-date with what is going on with Try Dying?

The best way to keep up with the going-ons of the ministries will be through the website - www.trydying.org. There will be updates at least every month, and I will also be sending out a newsletter per your request. This will be to keep you informed of prayer needs and all that God is doing both locally and globally through the ministry.

You can also contact me personally through email at jamey@trydying.org

If you do not have email, I will also be glad to write you with the same updates if you will make this request known when you send support.

3) Telling Others - Because the Body is so vast, you will undoubtedly meet and already know people with a Kingdom-vision that share my heart for ministry. These brothers and sisters may have a desire to invest financially, in prayer, or in opening the door for me to partner with their church in ministry. Please share my contact information with them and let them know of our needs, both prayer and financially. In this, more of the Body can partner with what Jesus is doing and He will receive more glory.

I want to thank you with all of my heart for being a part of my life and taking the time to read this letter. May the Great Name of our Glorious Savior be praised, and I give Him the glory for allowing me to be a part of His great plan to reach the nations. I am at your service. Feel free to contact me personally through the email address mentioned above or by phone at 256-454-0207.

I look forward to sharing all that God is planning as you partner with us to make it possible. May God richly bless you.
