Concluding the Busiest Spring of Our Lives

About 5 weeks ago, we began a long and adventurous series of trips that took us from Mobile to Shocco Springs to Gatlingburg to Arab and finally to Sandersville, GA. Not only were we a part of some serious encounters with Jesus, but we were definitely challenged all along the way. It's been incredible.

Thank you so much for your prayers and intercession. We know that you've lifted us to the Lord. We witnessed many students receive Christ. We saw God get a hold of many of the students at First Baptist Boaz. We saw complete surrender occur in a few lives, which we believe is the most important decision that any believer can make.

Each day I am humbled by the fact that I get to live my life with Jesus and that He is taking care of me. I have come to understand through the course of this past year that "Today" is highly significant because I, as a human being, can literally walk with God. I am finished living so much for the future that I miss out on today. I am weary of acting like I know where I'm going when I'm not driving.

I want to "flush the plan" and say to Jesus "I choose us." It's like Tea Leoni said to Nicolas Cage in the movie "The Family Man" - "The plan doesn't make us great....we make us great." The great part about my life is not where I'm going, or the cool stuff I might get to do. The great part of my life is that I get to live each moment with a Wonderful Savior - a King of Kings.

As we have entered the Passion Week....may we reflect on the depth of that word: Passion. What passion it required...what a bold and radical move - that God, Himself, would dare to tackle the illogical. He would actually dare to accomplish the unorthodox. He would allow Himself to taste death so that we (His creation) could know Him, and know freedom.

I just remembered something I heard some time ago. God could have just stopped at saving us from our sins. He could have just died on the cross, rose from the dead, and performed a legal transaction with those who would believe. Instead, He went further....He dared make His born enemies (you and I), His friends. He went even further....He adopted us.

"I was a hungry child, a dried up river
I was a burned down forest...
And no one could do anything for me.
Until You put food in my body...
Water in my dry bed,
And to these blackened branches,
You brought the spring time green
of a new life....
Nothing is impossible for you."

May we as the body attempt to do the impossible while the day is called "Today"...may we attempt to match His passion with our own.

Rick Deerman said it well, "Intimacy is a picture of two people giving everything to each other, unashamedly. All of us, for all of Him."

May we praise our Savior....may we come back to Him....may we rejoice in Him. In His hands are fullness of pleasure.

God bless you....we love you. Enjoy Jesus....there is no greater Person, and there is no greater life.
