Part 3 of 3 - Journal entry from night 4 at Smith's
The best part about doing this is the relationships - there's just no doubt. Tonight, I spent a lot of time with David and God is doing a ton in his heart regarding surrender. David is 44, and came back to the church just to talk and hang out. We got to share life and have church. What a great night. Last night, the Lord moved a lot. I preached a message on Peter called "Don't Quit". Tonight, I preached "No Sacrifice" dealing with Abraham and Isaac, and tomorrow I'll close with "Your Real Problem." This is a sermon that is birthed out of recent events in my life and personal discoveries about sin, God's grace, and believing the truth. Please pray that freedom would take place. I have grown to love the people of Smith's Station very much, and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them. Tomorrow, Tim and I are going back to Smith Station High School to eat with the students and let the girls gawk at Tim. haha. Tonight, there was a group of girls (well, and Nathan) gathered around Tim and I walked up after talking to a student, and put my hands together while resting my head on them (you know, the whole "I'm enraptured with you" look), making fun of the situation - acting like a girl that was in love with Tim - when one of the girls said, "Jamey's ready to go home and get some sleep...he's tired." They didn't quite catch the joke. haha. God is doing significant work here, everyone...please pray continually for tomorrow night, that God would save more souls and continue to work. Please pray for Ashley, that God would speak specifically and directly to her. Nikki has yet to show, and I hope I'll see her tomorrow. Sheena received Christ tonight, as well as Thomas yesterday. Pray for them. Pray for Kendall, she received Christ and is our new sister - 19 and a college student. Pray also for Casey, that she would have strength at home and that God would use her mightily in spite of persecution she might endure. Pray for Barrett to hold to truth and not relent. I talked to Bigun, Brett and Rick this afternoon (it was a conference call...I feel like a big deal saying that...haha...except for not at all) and we're gearing up for "Thursdays at 7" at the Roundhouse at JSU which starts...Thursdays....at 7...this Thursday...the day after tomorrow. I'll be preaching and there'll be worship, but there will also be time for you to meet people, drink coffee, and engage the Lord personally as well as corporately. Spread the word, and most of all, please pray. Man, prayer is such a big deal, and we don't ask God anything. Let's ask Him to move like He's moving everywhere else. Let's realize our desperation, and the tremendous needs that we can join Him in meeting. I love you guys. I am seeing the Lord move here, and you are playing a part. And I'm tired. Peace.... Oh..and Tim looks like Chad Michael Murray, no matter what Whitley says.
